I read a magazine article recently which suggests that by writing down 5 things you are grateful each day for when you wake up, makes you a happier and more content person.
I am always ready to try anything which might have a positive outcome so I did that this morning and I will share them with you today;
1. I am grateful for not drinking wine last night, I feel so much better this morning as a result.
2. I am grateful because Harry is getting better, he was so poorly yesterday with a high temperature and I found it really distressing.
3. I am grateful for being alive, that my lumpectomy was a success. Scars? Doesn't matter because I am alive to see Joseff and Harry growing up.
4. I am grateful for having such a sensible son in Joseff. He is so good, takes everything in his stride. I wish I could split my time more evenly. Harry takes so much of my attention.
5. I am grateful to be able to "SEE" because without my sight I would miss so much.
I won't give you a daily report on my 5 things I am grateful for each day because they will probably end up being mostly the same!
Dear Girl you are so strong and inspiring. Your sons are probably so proud of you too. That is the greatest gift of all to be a Mom. Blessings

Lovely gratitude list. I've kept one for decades and can attest to the positive benefits to health and happiness. In a dark time of my own life after my husband of 21 years (best friend for 33 years) left shortly after my mom died suddenly, I felt bereft and morose until someone suggested that what we think about expands ... a thought that captured my imagination and led me to significant changes in what I allowed to reside in my mind. You might want to choose one day a week (or month) to share with us ... (or not). I'm adding #5 to MY gratitude list today ;-)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Always keep your gratitude journal, I have had one for years since I read the book Simple Abundance.....it works.....:-) Hugs
ReplyDeletegreat idea, a gratitude journal. I try to be thankful everyday. we are so blessed!!
ReplyDeleteSara, you are so right about making a list of what you are thankful for! Most of my blog is spent with a positive spin for the craziness of my cancer journey, but there are some days where I just cannot be so positive. BUT, I always remember my three kids, wonderful supportive husband and fantastic family and friends...plus the ability to move my body and to have hair growing back everywhere!!! I am truly blessed for having been given this hardship. I hope that you will follow me and have the chance to see my positive side! Happy New Year and the best of all to you!
